現在、当ホテルが立地する場所は、星ノ宿（ほしのしゅく）という地名で呼ばれています。
The place where Nikko Kanaya Hotel is currently located was formerly called Hoshinoshuku


明治初年に作成されたこの古地図に「字星ノ宿」と記され、かつてこの地が畑地や山林だったことがわかります。1887（明治20）年、この地に三角（みかど）ホテルが計画され、その後、善一郎が土地と建物を取得して現在の金谷ホテルになりました。

This old map, created in the early Meiji period, is marked "Hoshinoshuku," showing that this area was once farmland and forest. In 1887 (Meiji 20), plans were made to build the Mikado Hotel on this site, and Zenichiro later acquired the land and building, which became the current Kanaya Hotel.
